Each town or city offers unique challenges and opportunities. Size Categories #

Towns and cities within Chernarus currently fall into five general categories of size, listed below from smallest to largest:

• Hamlet – The smallest size of town, and one of the most frequently encountered. These are not-quite-complete settlements which are mostly meant as stopovers between other, larger towns. They will likely have at least basic necessities such as Apple Trees, but may not have other important things like a water pump.
• Village – One step up from a hamlet, and by far the most common size of settlement. This category has a broad range of actual town sizes within it, featuring everything from the very small Tisy to bigger towns like Novy Sobor. Most places listed in this category will everything a survivor could need so long as they are not already picked clean.
• Town – The most selective category, with only six throughout the map. These not-quite-cities offer much more loot than any village, but are also more risky due to higher traffic.
• Small City – The line between small and large cities is somewhat blurred, but a Small City is any of the large settlements in Chernarus that don’t quite qualify for Large City status for one reason or another. These places generally offer most of the same loot as a Large City, just slightly less of it.
• Large City – The current largest size of settlement. Seen by most players as a one-stop-shop for everything they need (even sometimes military items). These places are usually visible from far away thanks to taller buildings and wider land areas. Also the most dangerous.
